Client Need
The Information Technology (IT) Director of a city government had been a longstanding subscriber to Win2Data®, our CD-based property and mortgage information tool. The government client had a networked subscription, with multiple end users accessing the database across several departments. Each month they received a new CD with updated data and their IT staff updated their network. Over time, the number of users accessing the database had grown, leading to an increase in the man-hours required to maintain user names, passwords and software. The client sought a new, Web-based solution that would streamline the management of property and mortgage information and facilitate end-user access.
Solution
After evaluating their needs, we recommended a subscription to RealQuest.com, our Web-based solution that provides the most comprehensive property and mortgage information available from a single source. RealQuest.com is automatically updated with the most current property and mortgage data, eliminating the need for manual updates from CDs. In addition, because RealQuest.com is Web-based, there is no need for client-side software to be installed; users conduct their searches by simply logging in from any computer with an Internet connection. The client also opted for the administrative module available within RealQuest.com, which enables IT staff to instantly update user names, passwords and user privileges online.
Results
RealQuest.com enabled the client to reduce operational expenses by more than 20%, allowing IT resources to be allocated to other key areas. In addition, because RealQuest is updated as soon as new information becomes available, users are able to access the most up-to-date real estate data 24 hours a day from any computer with an Internet connection, eliminating the extra time and resources previously required for monthly updates from a CD.
